Leah Reynolds - Sphericity

Leah Reynolds’ installation will include a large suspended disc-like form.  The translucent, skin-like material from which it is constructed gives it a luminous quality.  A series of small colored drawings on tracing paper continue the meditation on sphereness.  “Sphericity” can be seen as a metaphor for a perfect (and unattainable) state of being.

Reynolds’ work has been installed at the Philadelphia International Airport, 55 Mercer Gallery (NYC), Delaware Center for Contemporary Art, Fleisher Art Memorial, Philadelphia Fringe Festival, University of the Arts, West Chester University, Abington Art Center, Gallery Naga (Boston) and the Rhode Island State Arts Council, among other places.  This is her first solo exhibition at Nexus.

Opening Reception: March 12, 2009 6 to 9 PM
Closing Reception: April 3, 2009 6 to 9 PM
